/ The story
A bench.
A spreadsheet.
A grudge.
AIRVIO didn't start in a boardroom. It started behind a counter in a small UK repair shop, fed up with software that hated the people using it.
Most repair shop software was clearly built by someone who had never replaced a screen at 9pm on a Tuesday.
Six tabs. Twelve required fields. A "Synergy Dashboard". A mandatory 40-minute onboarding call before you could even add a customer. We tried them all, the legacy ones, the shiny ones, the ones with a guy on LinkedIn who calls himself a repair industry thought leader. (We do offer onboarding now. We just don't make you sit through it.)
So we built our own. On a slow Sunday, on a beat-up MacBook, between a Galaxy charge port and a stubborn iPad LCD. The first version did three things: jobs, customers, updates. The second version did the same, just better.
We're still doing those three things. Now with HMRC tucked in, payments wired up, barcodes printing, and warranty receipts that customers actually keep (mostly in drawers).
We don't take VC money. We don't run "synergy sprints". We ship, every second Tuesday, and answer our own emails.
/ What we believe
Tools, not platforms.
If it doesn't help on the bench, it doesn't ship.
Built, not assembled.
We write the code. No franken-stack of plugins.
Slow on purpose.
We ship monthly. Not weekly. Not yearly. Like a good kettle.
Boringly honest.
Three plans. One page. No 'let's get on a call' (unless you want one).
/ The bits worth telling
A short
history.
Five years of repairs, half of them ours. The other half, yours, hopefully.
- 2021
Opened the shop. Started the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet immediately started fighting back.
- 2023
Built v0 of AIRVIO between jobs. Three tabs, no logo, did the trick.
- 2024
First paying shop joined. Bought them a pint. Still owe them another.
- 2025
Added HMRC, Stripe / SumUp / Square, barcode printing. Stopped sleeping briefly.
- 2026
Price-freeze pledge for early customers. New release every second Tuesday, forever.
